Head of Global Research and Development (m/w/x)
Your responsibilities
- Lead and manage the global R&D teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration
- Develop and implement R&D strategies that align with the business objective
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of R&D projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
- Closely collaborate with product management to innovate according to customers’ added value and create pain reliefers and gain creators
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to ensure successful product development and commercialization
- Monitor industry trends and advancements to identify opportunities for new technologies and products
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Manage the R&D budget and allocate resources effectively
- Mentor and develop R&D staff, promoting professional growth and development
- Maintain the global R&D dashboard to ensure full transparency of the R&D, engineering, and lifecycle activities
Your profile
- A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree with a technical focus
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the tech industry
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a leading, comparable management function
- Compelling leadership skills, conceptual strengths, deep knowledge and experience in R&D leadership roles, preferably in a global setting
- Proven track record of successful product development (finished projects) and innovation.
- Strategic, analytical thinking with simultaneous implementation orientation
- In-depth knowledge in the development of electronic & mechatronic assemblies as well as hardware & software-based solutions
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
- Initiative, ability to work under pressure, interdisciplinary working style
- Willingness to travel and intercultural competence
- A customer-oriented and structured approach, coupled with a high level of assertiveness
- Communication skills and social intelligence
